KCA held its first Ceramics Festival on 3, 4, 5 November 2023 in collaboration with the Indian Ceramic Art Foundation (ICAF). The festival was spread across the entire Centre, encompassing a range of ceramic activities and events from workshops, marketplace, film showing, art installations, sculpture exhibition and much more.

With so many wonderful ceramics festivals taking place across India, KCA’s aim is to promote the art of ceramics through education by creating opportunities for people to explore ceramics and understand the intricate processes behind its creation.

This festival promises to be an enriching and immersive experience that will leave people inspired and awestruck by the endless possibilities of ceramics.


CERAMIC MARKETPLACE

Potters from all around Ahmedabad participated in the 3 days ceramics festival to showcase their ceramic products.

WORKSHOPS

A variety of ceramic workshops took place over the 3 day festival. From learning different ceramic techniques like Sgraffito, Nerikomi, Slip Trailing, etc to painting glaze workshops, there was something for all to experience.

CERAMICS EXHIBITION

Green Stains on a Dry Leaf, a ceramics exhibition was curated in collaboration with the Indian Ceramics Art Foundation (ICAF) at Urmila Art Gallery which played host to five young ceramicists from Gujarat who exhibited their ceramic creations.

LIVE POTTERY

Visitors participated in this quick live pottery sessions and made mini ceramic pots of their own!

CLAY, COFFEE, & CONVERSATIONS

KCA organized a fun clay activity for all the participating potters to interact with each other and make on the spot sculptures!

LIVE MUSIC

The evenings were light up by live music performances, creating a festive environment!
